Scarlett v Seacrest: The most awkward moments on the Oscars red carpet

He’s been called on to #AskHerMore while working the red carpet, but Ryan Seacrest seems to think along the lines of, “it’s my show and I’ll do what I want to.”

While others at the Oscars 2017 politely smiled through some of his more awkward questioning, Scarlett Johansson called the E! host out live on his very own network.

Seacrest asked Johansson, who’s presenting an award, if she wore her Oscar night shoes for her practice run. (Can you imagine him asking that same question to the likes of Denzel Washington, Mel Gibson, Andrew Garfield or even no-nonsense talking Cate Blanchett?)

“What a ridiculous question,” she replied, laughing.

He tried to defend himself by explaining he read about it from fellow presenter Halle Berry, but Johansson, who is no stranger to calling out double standards in Hollywood, did not seem to buy it.

“They’re not Converse,” she told him.

Seacrest hit yet another bum note when speaking to Dakota Johnson. This time he did try to #AskHerMore but the Fifty Shades of Grey star seemed startled.

“From when you started working on the films [Fifty Shades franchise] to now, how have you grown into that role [Anastasia Steele] and changed and evolved a little bit?’ he asked.

“That’s a very serious question to ask me right now,” she told him.

Looking awkward, the Fifty Shades Darker star continued as if she was speaking to a guidance counsellor: “It has been a very educational experience, both professionally and personally.

“I’ve gotten to deal with certain things in a more grownup way. I have a better outlook on certain parts.”

It wouldn’t be a red carpet without a “malfunction” and this time Seacrest can breathe a sigh of relief that it had nothing to do with him.

Actor Blanca Blanco, star of Teen Star Academy and Bermuda Tentacles, accidently (or maybe not?) flashed what looked to be her underpants-free vulva.

The actress appears to be taking it in her stride (ahem).    Thank you @azteca for the interview #oscars2017A post shared by Blanca Blanco (@blancablancoactress) on Feb 26, 2017 at 5:58pm PST
